The Real Game, originally developed in Canada to teach young people key life skills, had previously only been available to schools around the world in a paper format. In collaboration with Prospects Services Ltd, Indigo Multimedia Ltd has developed the first digital version, which has now been launched initially to schools in the UK.
“We have worked closely with Prospects, to create an exciting interactive online version for use in CEG, PSHE and Citizenship classes,” said Andrew Graney, web director at Indigo Multimedia Ltd.
“The Real Game is already well known around the world so our challenge was to maintain the existing brand identity, key structure and elements of the game, whilst creating a new look and feel.”
To do this the team created a central character, R.Com, who guides players through the game.
“Our aim was to make the learning process fun, stimulating and engaging for pupils,” explained Andrew. “R.Com guides them through each of the 15 lessons helping them to make education and career choices as well as preparing them for the challenges of adult life.”
The interactive version also includes a designated area for teachers, which enables them to use the resource in a flexible and adaptable way. “Teachers can also customise the material, for example, to make it geographically relevant to their area,” added Andrew.
Lesley Bailey, project manager at Prospects said: “The team at Indigo has considerable experience in developing interactive educational resources and this e-learning version of the Real Game is quite unique. Over 200 schools in the UK have registered to use it and there is already interest to customise it for countries overseas.”

"As an interactive regional gateway we have huge volumes of content and needed a simple and effective, yet attractive way to present it. Indigo came up with an innovative solution, that really hit the spot."
