UK Sport

Description

UK Sport is a government organisation whose responsibility is to lead the UK to world-class sporting success. As part of this remit it has a responsibility to ensure that sporting participants are entering in an ethical manner. The 100% ME brand of UK Sport is to promote drug free sport within the sporting community and to educate sporting people of the virtues and pitfalls.

With the new 100% ME brand newly created, Indigo were invited to build a website that tackled the following:

• Convey the 100% ME brand online
• Allow content flexibility and scalability
• Have a consistent look and feel
• Have a logical structure and intuitive navigation
• Be clear and concise
• Allowed for easy client updating
• Meet government accessibility guidelines
• Included an eCommerce facility

The Solution:
Indigo produced a CMS (Content Management System) driven website to allow the client to easily restructure their content at will. The CMS allowed the easy changing of sections and article pages without breaking the integrity of the design.

The design was built to give the client flexibility and scalability, whilst giving the user a solid navigation through the use of a bolt down style menus, here the user can easily see where they are within the information structure. Colours within the menu system allow the user to identify hierarchy.

100% ME images were used within the heading on a rotational basis, giving the user a new header graphic on each page refresh. The introduction image also auto rotates on each visit to give the site a refreshed look with minimum updating from the client, These images often include high profiles sports people such as Paul Radcliffe and Steven Gerrard.

A full ecommerce system was also implemented complete with stock control, customer accounts, credit card integration and fulfilment administration system.
