WHAT WE DID...
Objective
Create an interactive web application for young people aged between 10 and 18 who live in County Durham. The application should allow the target group to find activities in their area, engaging with them in a young person friendly way.
The application should have content management and allow third party providers to add and edit their activities. The system will also need to integrate with the government’s positive activities database.
Solution
- Workshops were organised with groups of young people so they could provide their input on the look and feel of the website.
- Indigo produced wireframes in order to test the user experience
- The system was developed and a pilot undertaken before launch
- Indigo created an XML feed pulling and pushing activities to the government’s national activity database
Results
- Encourages participation in activities for young people in County Durham
- Over 4,000 active users
- Admin system enables management of user accounts, activities, blogs and images
